Winwyn Marquez

The assembly of a 45-caliber gun and an M16 rifle is part of Winwyn Marquez's training as a military reservist.

Kapuso actress Winwyn Marquez traded her tiaras for firearms as she assembled a 45-caliber gun and an M16 rifle for the first time.

On Instagram Story, the Glow Up host showed how her military training went on Saturday, September 19.

Winwyn assured her followers that before handling the guns, she learned three important things: "Safety, safety, and safety."

During the Kapuso Brigade ZOOMustahan, Winwyn relayed that her call to service prompted her to join the military reservist team.

She said, “Siguro, the fact that I know how to protect my family and even the people that I don't know 'pag may emergency.

“At the same time, alam ko na 'yung discipline at 'yung skills ko maho-hone.

"Pero the biggest factor was 'yung sinabi na you can serve your country and you can serve people. Dun pa lang hindi na ako nagdalawang isip kasi my heart is for service. I'm not sure if people noticed this but 'yung path ko laging papunta doon.

"Yes, I'm a beauty queen pero I see this as a new title and I'm proud to share this with everyone --- that I'm gonna be a reservist under the marines."

Winwyn added, “Everyone can do it! To be honest, sa batch ko sobrang diverse kasi we have teachers, doctors, and people from the corporate world. We even have someone who is 40 years old and someone as young as 24 years old.

“Not a lot of people know this kasi sa isip nila, 'pag sumali ka as a reservist puro war o gulo. But, our focus is on humanitarian work, civil-military operations, and how you can help people during emergencies.

“I hope makita ng tao na 'pag pumasok ka dito, maiiba 'yung pananaw mo sa lahat and your priorites do change.”

If they say it's impossible, remember that it's impossible for them but not for you. 🌊🇵🇭 • Thank you Sir Arthur Abuan for this photo! #PhNavyReserveForce #BCMC0120 #BatchDakila
